Charity Auction Round 1 Results
by Bob on Apr.28, 2011, under Charity Auction
Round 1 of our first ever Charity Auction to benefit the AmeriCares Pacific Earthquake & Tsunami Relief Fund is complete! eBay/PayPal is finally done holding on to the donations (woe is us for being a new seller, even with an established PayPal account, linked to an established commercial eBay account – the idiots) so we finally got all the funds from the items that sold during the auction. The check has been sent to AmeriCares, along with a nice letter of support.
The end results of the 1st round of the auction is that we managed to raise a grand total of $588.83 for Japan! While that might not seem like much at first glance, keep in mind that AmeriCares, through its amazing work, can multiple donations by as much as 35 times, converting that to a whopping $20,609.05 worth of aid delivered to the region. Wow!!!
The work is not complete yet, though!
We still have a few pictures left from Michael McGrady and Michael Cudlitz which were not put up for auction the first time. So… Round 2!!! (continue reading…)
Season 3 Premieres, Contest Season Begins!
by Bob on Dec.30, 2010, under Announcements, Contests, Episodes, News
As you should already know by now, the much anticipated Season 3 of SouthLAnd premieres next Tuesday, January 4, 2011 on TNT at 10/9 central. This is the first season of SouthLAnd written and produced entire for and by TNT and already the critics are raving over it.
I was privileged to see an advanced copy of the first episode of the season and I have just one word to describe it: Wow! Just… Wow. There is no doubt about it, fans – SouthLAnd is BACK, with a vengeance! Forget what you knew about the show before. Season 3 takes things to a whole new level, starting off with a bang and never looking back.
I don’t believe in spoilers, so I won’t be giving any out here (sorry folks!). Let me just say that having read the first couple of pages of the script on Facebook, I was still on the edge of my seat with my heart in my throat in the first 60 seconds. Throughout the episode I cried, I laughed, I was shocked, I was angry, I was surprised, but mostly I was entranced. It was, above all else, SouthLAnd. (continue reading…)
SouthlandTvFans.com Set Visit – Part 2 – Regina King Interview
by Bob on Dec.19, 2010, under Best Of Videos, Cast, On Set, Original Interviews, Pics & Videos, Spoilers
Here is the first in a series of videos of the interviews we did while on the set of Southland on Friday, December 17, 2010. This is the first of 2 solo interviews with Regina King.
Regina was amazingly gracious and friendly, although she had to have been under immense pressure. In fact, all 3 of them – Regina, Ben McKenzie and Michael Cudlitz, plus technical adviser Chic Daniels – were very pleasant and wonderful with us the whole time. It was their last day of filming for 2010, they had a very long day ahead of them still, after a very early start, the weather was horrible outside, and yet they all still treated us like old friends there for a chat instead of website reporters there to pick their brains. They know, as does TNT, that the fans are the ones that helped save this show not once, but twice. They know who they are making the show for and they appreciate it.
So on with the video interview! (continue reading…)
