| Interactions: | Sal is well liked and extremely well respected by his fellow officers and detectives, as seen in Two Gangs – they will go to the ends of the earth for him. He has been on the force for years and knows his stuff. They look up to him as a friend and a mentor. Clearly he is not so happy with being a supervisor, though, when he spends time at work on the computer pretending to be a teenager so he can spy on his daughter on Facebook. You can see he is really in his element when he is able to get out into the field and put his experience to use.
Outside of work in his personal life, things are not always so great. Clearly his marriage is not going well, as shown by the fact that he has had an affair with the reporter Mia, a much younger woman. His teenage daughter Kimmy, as teenagers will, has trouble with her “cop father” and continuously tests the limits of his patience, leading to some interesting plot developments on the show. However, they also show a softer, warmer side of Sal that we don’t expect to see from a tough, seasoned detective that is a nice change of pace, making this character fully three dimensional. |
