History
In early October 2009, just 2 weeks before Season 2 of SouthLAnd was due to premiere on NBC, the network canceled the show with no warning.
The fan outcry was immediate and unanimous! An internet campaign was launched almost simultaneously, with a few primary movers leading the charge and one goal in mind: Save SouthLAnd, after comments made in an interview by Southland star Michael Cudlitz (@Cudlitz)! Users on Twitter flooded the service with #savesouthland, TNT was emplored to pick up the show with the knowledge that fans would faithfully follow it to a new network, and at least 2 websites were launched dedicated to the cause at almost exactly the same time – www.savesouthland.com and www.savesouthlandshow.com (by yours truly). There were even online petitions created, a Care2 petition and a Twitter Petition/Twitition, which combined gathered almost 1000 signatures all asking SOMEONE to Save SouthLAnd.
While we will never know for certain, anecdotal evidence leads us to believe that this grassroots Save Southland campaign had at least some influence on TNT’s decision to pick up the show. At least we like to think so! 
Regardless of why it was saved, we are all grateful that it WAS saved, so this site was created to a) show our gratitude and b) make sure that anyone and everyone is aware that it was saved so TNT can get as many viewers as possible. The more viewers and fans we get, the better ratings TNT gets for the show, the better chances we have for more original episodes to be ordered after the 13 existing episodes (7 Season 1 and 6 unaired Season 2) have been shown starting on January 12, 2010.
So if you love SouthLAnd, give some thanks to some of the original “@Cudlitz Army” Twitter users who helped us Save SouthLAnd! Without them, we may not have the chance to see Season 2, or any of the shows, on TNT:
