About Us

Welcome to the #1 Southland Fan Site

Word is getting around, and the stats prove it: SouthlandTvFans.com is a hit, just like SouthLAnd itself! We are the #1 SouthLAnd Fan Site on the Internet and growing bigger every day.

We can’t rest on our laurels, though – we need YOUR help and participation! This site is NOTHING without the ongoing participation of the fans who make up the TEAM that keeps it going.

Not a fan of SouthLAnd yet? Not sure what SouthLAnd is? That’s OK! We’re here to help you and make you a fan! Just start at About SouthLAnd and work your way down – we’re sure you’ll be hooked by the time you are done. Don’t forget to check out some of the great videos in Best Of SouthLAnd, or the great articles and interviews in News & Media. We’ve also gathered some reviews from around the web about the show (yes, both good AND bad! We’re honest) in the Reviews category, so you can see what the press had to say about the show when it premiered on NBC last spring, and recently since it’s cancellation and pickup by TNT.

About SouthLAndTVFans.com

After the campaign to save SouthLAnd by many dedicated fans on Twitter and websites (including one that I also created, at SaveSouthlandShow.com) succeeded (or so we like to think) and the show was picked up by TNT, it became clear that the next battle was to get viewers and ratings. So now the next step! We don’t need to save SouthLAnd any more, we need to KEEP it.

This site is meant to serve multiple purposes:

  • Provide a central meeting point for SouthLAnd Fans
  • Provide a resource point for all things SouthLAnd
  • Be a collaborative resource for promoting SouthLAnd on TNT
  • Help build an Internet SouthLAnd Community

While the original SouthlandTvFans.com site was created using Google Sites to get it up and off the ground quickly, this new site is the result of more time, planning and investment. It is now running on my own server, which I control 100%. It is running on the WordPress.org platform to offer the best possible world in flexibility for publishing and integration as used by some of the best websites around. Best off all, through the great plugins that WordPress offers, users and Team members can participate and contribute to the site using accounts that they already have from places like Facebook and Twitter, making this a truly collaborative project.

Of course, this is ALL Open Source Software, from the Linux Operating System, the MySQL database, the Apache web server, the PHP software and the WordPress blogging system.

Original Graphics & Site Banner

Our site’s original banner was created by the enormously talented Alexandra Sparco (@cautionwriter), a contributor to this site. For more information about Alexandra, please check out her information on The Team page.

Thanks, Alexandra! The graphics look amazing!

Some banners were created by Junior, such as the banner on the About Southland page. Variety is the spice of life, and every team has room for additional input, right? :-)

Additional graphics created/generated by the Webmaster or donated by members of the team as part of the overall Team contribution to the site.

Google Ads?!?

Yes, there are some Google ads here, strategically placed. If I’m lucky, over the lifetime of the site, they might generate enough revenue to recoup the cost of the domain registration fee for the .com version of this domain. :) Of course, I also registered the .net, .org., .biz and .info domains to prevent copy-cats, pay for the site hosting, the Newsletter subscription service and other additional fees that support this site, so this is a labor of love, not a money making venture, in any way whatsoever!

SouthLAnd Store

Just like the Google Ads, items available in the SouthLAnd Store are there to generate some slight income for the site. If, and I mean IF, an income is actually generated beyond what was spent to setup the site and register the domain names (doubtful) all money earned beyond that amount will be donated to the Los Angeles Police Foundation, an official non-profit foundation of the Los Angeles Police Department.

If there are products available on the Internet related to SouthLAnd that you know of, and you don’t see them in our Store, please let me know! I will look into adding them so they are available for SouthLAnd Fans.
